Infrastructure as code & repeatable delivery
Birchfield Solutions is Adam White's software company. A Principal Software Engineer and Azure solution architect with 14+ years designing and delivering distributed, cloud-native systems.
Start with the business need, the people and the system as it really is. Get a plain account of what's working and what isn't.
Work inside your team: designing architecture, writing code and infrastructure, and putting tests, pipelines and monitoring in place.
Leave behind documentation, deployment plans and a team that understands the system, so delivery keeps going after the engagement ends.
Hyper-velocity engineering means using AI tools to remove the slow, repetitive parts of software delivery while the engineering discipline stays the same.
How we approach AI-assisted engineeringAt Microsoft, Adam established AI-assisted engineering practices for accelerated code navigation, test generation and incident triage, improving team throughput and reducing time-to-fix.
At Stonewater, he introduced AI-assisted engineering tooling for code review support, troubleshooting and automation helpers, to reduce cycle time and increase delivery throughput.
In both teams, the AI tooling ran alongside infrastructure as code and Azure DevOps pipelines, not instead of them.
“… Adam's exceptional ability to grasp the project from a holistic perspective and align it seamlessly with our business requirements left a lasting impression on me. His profound technical expertise proved to be an indispensable asset throughout the project.”
“Adam is a solid (and a SOLID) developer. Great part of a team, works really well with testers, BAs, UI/UXers and other developers. … He works well remotely and consistently delivers against deadlines.”
“… Adam is capable of turning people's ideas into reality. We hit a few stumbling blocks along the way but he came up with solutions which were never too much for him … He is quick to pick up concepts. He works great in a team.”
